One spark is all it takes to light a fire ….
The definition of education – give intellectual, moral or social instruction to someone or to give training in or information on a particular field.
Being educated in today’s world is a challenge because it is so difficult to access the truth. This blog is created from a series of events that transpired this week and has left me with a bit of an unhinging at the jaw at how far we are being steered from the truth. A client came in the other day and we took some time to catch up on what is transpiring in her life. She is currently enrolled in post secondary education and said she didn’t agree with much of the content, its based on outdated information and has chosen to study what really resonated with her in her after-hours. That spoke volumes to me. Our education system including what we have embraced as adult ‘education’ such as media and evening news needs a serious overhaul. This is not in any way about the educators, they have enough struggles and it’s another complete topic. Knowledge is power but it has to at its very core be true, or as true as we can prove it to be with today’s technologies and studies. That knowledge can then be applied and experienced in implementation to creating sustainable changes. What is even more disturbing is the cost of the education of deeply outdated information and we are actually having to pay for it.
Intellectually, the average person uses approximately 10% of the brains capacity to think and it is my sense that that number is decreasing rather than increasing because we aren’t embodying or exploring information…it is merely sitting at a literal level. If we want to figure something out, we google it and take someone else’s word for it without checking the sources. We scroll through social media and repost things but then it’s gone from our radar. Nothing is resonating at the level of change truly needed. Today is hot and muggy and the advisory is out that swimming is not safe because of ecoli bacteria being at high levels. It feels like the lake I grew up with is dying, a mass source of fresh water that should be honoured and respected. What also was released just a couple weeks ago that an enormous dump of human waste was put into our waters; it made for some angry comments below the post but then we scroll onwards and become enamoured with the latest fashion Duchess Kate or whomever is donning. Those waters and all waters are suffering; there were at one time flat beds of old vehicles dumped out there, many chemicals and run-offs from the land permeate their way through and end up in our waters, garbage is strewn in it or on its shores and human waste is now being regularly dumped in.
Our earth cannot sustain the abuse it is undergoing. That has been stated over and over and over again. We gotta get real, we gotta light that spark and begin demanding the truths. One big truth is, and go ahead and google it, we are facing the 6th mass extinction on the planet. 90% of all water species are now extinct and 65% of land species with those numbers increasing at never before seen rates. What is even more disturbing is that we have many of the answers and solutions to some of these crises but the ones capitalizing off the current methodology are doing everything in their power to crush them before they get off the starting blocks.
I encourage you to commit to discovering the truth; the most current and peer reviewed information available. The systems in place today are designed to profit a select few and information is cherry-picked to support their agendas. The results are showing in devastating ways. Put your phone down and look around at how you can begin to create least footprint on the land and our waters. Minimalize, support local, research new and sustainable ways to live. Get out of the chaos and into a more peaceful rhythm beginning with your mind. It only takes that one spark to light a fire. Instead of division, unite. Instead of busyness, slow down. See through that design that has so strategically kept us at war with each other. We all drink the water, we all eat the food. Embrace our uniqueness and become human again. When we have the truth, we can then move forward with the greatest of resources available to date and begin to repair the devastation, the damage and the suffering we are witnessing. We are the ones we have been waiting for.
